Pastor Lloyd Spence has been in church all of his life, but he has been saved since November 1993. That was when he learned the difference.
Pastor Lloyd has been raised in and around the church his entire life, but the Love of God was never truly in him. He, as many would say, was just “playing church”. He sang in the choir, served as a junior deacon, and in many other auxiliaries, all the while living a different, sinful lifestyle outside of the church. It was not until college, where he had a personal encounter with God in the rain, on a tennis court, that he finally understood what it meant to be saved. That night he gave his life to the Lord, and he has never looked back.
He spent four years directing and writing for his college gospel choir, The Black Gospel Ensemble of Morehead State University. After graduating, he served as youth director for both the Presbyterian Community Center, and Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, in Louisville, KY. He also served at Mt. Nebo as the Minister of Music.
In 2000, he moved to Texas, and joined Mt. Olive Church of Plano. Under the leadership of Pastor Sam Fenceroy, he has served as both the Youth Pastor and Minister of Music during the last 9 years. He is currently finishing his debut album, and his directorial debut of an original movie, both due later this year. An Author, a Songwriter, A Worship Leader, A Pastor to Youth, and the man Pastor Dwight affectionately calls “The Maestro”, Pastor Lloyd loves Jesus with all of his heart, and just wants to fulfill the will of God for his life.
Pastor Lloyd is celebrating ten years of marriage to his wonderful wife Minister Kenyetta Spence. They have two beautiful daughters, Azariah (9), and Hananiah (newborn).
